Superdrug, Boots, New Look and H&M Haul

After going to my 6th form interview I went shopping with my mum and newly cut knee (I fell over).
As well as all this stuff I also got some stationary but I didn't think all of you would want to see that.

I know I am project 10 pan but I have failed on the no makeup buying, the natural collection stuff is from boots and the other 2 things are from superdrug.
MUA Pressed Powder (shade 2)-£1. This is just a back up to the one I have because I really like it for school because it is so cheep but really good.
Natural Collection Nail Color (Twinklberry)-£1.89. The name of this is so cute and it is the perfect Christmas color. It is a orangy/red glitter polish.
Natural Collection Eye Lines (soft gray)-£1.99- I got this for my lower and upper lash line to smudge out.
Natural Collection Eye Lines (white)-£1.99. This is just to go in my school bag to touch up my eyeliner over the day.
Collection 2000 Lasting Color Lipstick (15 Birthday Suit). I like a nude lipstick for the day and this is really pretty.
I know collection 2000 has re-branded and become 'collection' but I just think it sounds so naff and just why change I ask you.
I didnt go too mad in New Look, I only got two bits of jewellery and they where on sale. Both where reduced from £3.99 to £2.
I got the earrings for days when I have my hair out of my face and my ear's are on show. They are a cluster of flowers with green and white gems in the middle. I know they are quite large but I think they are pretty and very light weight.
I have wanted a ring with a black gem for a while now and this one is perfect for every day, I think it is a really simple and I will wear a lot.

The rest of the stuff is from H&M.
This bag is going to be my fall/winter bag because it is quite neutral so it will go with a lot. It was in the sale and was reduced from £19.99 to £7. It is a good size so I can hold everything I need, and it has a cross body strap and a handle?
I finaly got my hands on (and my legs in) some pink jeans. These have a bit of stretch so they are easy to get on and off. These are so cute and girly and I am in love. They cost £14.99 which is really good for a pair of jeans
This top is a nice lose cream top with a heart of colored flowers. It is perfect for school because it is nice and comfy but is still really cute. It cost £7.99 which I feel is the perfect price for this top, because it is one of those tops that some shops over charge for.
I saw this lace top and had to have it, it is one that you have to wear a top under (I have a nude one on in the photo). It is so feminine and romantic and I love it. It was a steal at £7.99.
This is my fave thing I got, it is a super soft and fluffy jumper with kissing birds and it is something I can wear with pretty much any of my jeans. At £19.99 it was a bit pricey but I am in love.

I hope you enjoyed my haul.
Talk to you soon

Thank you Ellen (LesFleursResbelles)

The wonderful Ellen for Les Fleurs Resbelles sent me a lovely package full of goodies I can't wait to use.
I am going to send her another package with some UK makeup in, I feel really bad becuase she sent me so much.
I wanted to share what I got with you all, and I am not trying to show off about what she sent me I am just very grateful.
It all came wrapped so cute but I didn't get a photo because I opened it in bed this morning. It had foamy glittery shapes (Pink harts and purple stars) which I have stuck on to my laptop.
I got a lovely postcard with the Eiffel tower on with some Fleur de lis and other pretty patterns on them. It is a toupe and pink post card with goes so nicely with my room, I think I am going to frame it and put it up in my room.
I got two packs of tissues, a Hello Kitty pack and a Barbie pack. I love fun tissues, when I go back to school I will take these with me but only I can use them, everyone else can use my boring white ones.
I got a sample of Allen by Thierry Mugler which I have never smelt before today and it is lovely, and on the perfume was a cute little strawberry peg. When I was showing my mum the stuff I got she saw the peg and said "oh, we need to send her one of our little silver pegs."
She got me two nail polish's from the brand Kiko which you cant get over in England and as a nail polish lover I cant wait to use them. I got number 7 which is a pink glitter polish and I am sure I will use this up really fast so I will have to be careful with my usage. The royal purple is number 1 and I love dark colors for my nails in the fall/winter time but I find black to harsh so this purple is perfect for me.
I final thing she got me was a lovely pallet from the brand Nocibe, it is the Jungle Addict pallet with 4 pretty blush's and 4 lovely eyeshadows. It is also zebra print so it looks nice.

I am so grateful for all my stuff.
Thank you again Ellen

TAG:Whats Your Makeup Style?

I saw this TAG on CamiGMakeup4U2C's Blog and wanted to do it too, she is the only person I have seen do it but I TAG you all to have a go.

1. EEK! You’ve got five minutes to do your makeup for a date. What’s your minimum?

Foundation, Powder, Contour/Highlight, Eyeshadow, Mascara, Blush, Tinted Lip Balm. It seems a lot but I think if I was in a rush and I wanted to impress someone I could do it....Maybe.

2. Pick a trend—crazy cat eyeliner, super hot pink blush, or feathered false lashes?

Super hot pink blush, it is perfect to make you look more tanned. It is the only one of these that can be worn day and night with out looking over the top.

3. If you had to either give up all makeup for two months or give up your skincare for a week, which would you pick?
I would have to give up my skin care, I always forget about it (I know tut tut) and two off no makeup it way to long.
4. What beauty products are always in your purse?
Mascara, Lips Gloss and Balms, Eye Shadow and Liner, Blush and some brush's/mirror. It's not often that I need all that but if I do want to touch up these parts of my makeup then I can. If I only have a small bag I only take that days lip stick and gloss (and a mirror)
5. Are there any beauty products that you keep coming back to throughout the years?
Natural Collection Pressed Powder (in warm) it is my go to pressed because it is cheep, a really good color, soft and not cakey. I also keep going back to the lush honey I washed the kids soap (it smells like honey and toffee) and the sleek pallet in original.
6. Smoky eyes or red lips?
Smoky eyes are my go to look for a party or dinner and I like to team the with bright pink lips if I'm feeling crazy.
7. Lipstick or lipgloss?
I am a total Lipgloss girl, I always have been and always will be. A lipstick on it's own can be a bit drying or look a little off it is has no shine, but you can get some really pigmented gloss's that don't need a Lipstick under it. I could always use a lipliner under my gloss.
8. Are there any products that you never expected to like but ended up loving?
My MUA makeup and No7 Blush in coral flush.

July Empties

I didn't finish too much this month because I was chopping and changing the products I used and there was a few makeup free days to let my skin breath.
I used up two clear polish's which isn't hard for me because I use a clear polish as a base and top coat when ever I paint my nails.
The first one I used up it the French Tips Nail Lacquer (Gray lid), which was just a thick gloppy mess but I found it did work well for a base coat if I smoothed it down with another brush.
The white lid polish is Broadway Nails Nail Art Topcoat, if they sold this on it's own I would buy another because it was so easy to apply but you only got 3.3ml so it didn't last long.

Superdrug Facial Cleansing Wipes I don't know if I will rush out to buy another pack just because I found them to be a little dry for my liking but they did the job at removing makeup they often have them on offer. My ones are the sensitive skin ones but my mum had the 'normal' ones (yellow packet) and I used them and they felt more moist.

Marks And Spencer Let It Snow Shimmering Body Cream I got this one year for Christmas and never used it but when I did I gave up and left one use left in that I finally used in July. There where 2 main reasons I stopped using it, number 1 the smell, it is like a plain lotion sent with a hint of spice and it has always had it. I would much rather it have a fruity or vanilla sent. Number 2 is that there was a fine line between perfect amount and too much lotion. The shimmer was really pretty and subtle which I liked.

Finally the Claire's Coconut Hand Cream this is such a good hand cream and I love the packaging, some may say it is a bit too much but I happen to like the zebra tube and bright blue lid (which sadly chipped off).

I hope you enjoyed

Lets Cook:Jam Tarts

To celebrate the opening of the Olypics I made some super easy jam tarts and I wanted to show you all how  quick and simple it is to make your own pastry.

8OZ plain flour
4OZ butter
pinch of salt
teaspoon sugar
Cold water

1) Preheat oven to 180oc and grease a 12 hole cupcake tin.
2)In a large bowl rub the butter in to the flour until it looks like bread crubs.

3) Mix in the salt and sugar
4) Tablespoon at a time mix the water in with a butter knife untill it all comes together in to a soft dough.
5)kneed in to a smooth ball, wrap in cling film and chill for 15-30mins
6) Roll the pasty out on a floured surface until as thick as a £1 coin.
7) Cut with cutters just bigger that the holes in the cupcake tin.
8) Put the pastry circles in the tin and put 1teaspoon of jam in to each pasty.
9)  Cook for 20mins until golden brown
To make the corn flake thing I rolled out the left over pasty and spread some jam over it and cooked it with the tarts for the same amount of time.
I then mixed 1cup of corn flakes with golden syrup and then put it on top.

Hope you enjoyed

No7 Mineral Perfection Blush

I have been in love with this little beauty over that past few weeks and I think it is just stunning.
I picked this up a while ago and in spirit it has been well loved. By that I mean I often think hmmm..I think I fell like a bit of Mineral Perfection blusher but can never be bothered with the faff of making sure there is not too much on the brush and the mess. But as I have found it is not as faffy as I first thought.

Sorry bad swatch- I blames the lighting
I got the color Rose Pink (05) but I think the had a slightly darker one or it might have been more brown, I don't know, all I know is I liked this one better.
It is a nice dusty rose in the pot but when it is on the face it is more like a princess baby pink (my weakness blush wise, I always seem to be drawn to them)
There is some glitter in it but not the sort that makes you look over done, we wouldn't expect that from No7, no the glitter is the nice sort that catch's the light. It is perfect for both day and night, and is one of those blusher's that looks good with any eye/lip makeup you have on. The staying power is amazing and the color is really subtle but pretty. It is best suited to light/ Medium skin tones but anyone can use it.
It is such a finely milled powder that is is super soft and feels like such a luxury product. I can see this being the dust is like in a fairy's house color and all.
It comes with a kabuki brush that is dense and can sometimes pick up a bit too much product so be careful. The brush is soft but not soft if you get me and it doesn't lose hairs which I like.

This costs £8-£9 for a 4g pot with the Kabuki, I for one only buy No7 when I have the £5 off voucher.
I would give this 8.5/10.

Lets Cook: Cheese and Tomato Scones

These are perfect to have one there own as a snack or with soup.
Although When I made them they where a bit of a fail (I put in too much milk )
*self-raising Flour- 275g (10oz)
*salt- 1/4 teaspoon
*butter- 50g (2oz)
*Dried Basil- 1 teaspoon
*Tomato Puree- 1 tablespoon
 *Milk- 275ml (9fl oz)
*Egg- 1 (beaten)
*crated cheese- How ever much you need to cover the tops

*preheat to oven to 200*C/400*F/ Gas Mark 6
* Put the Flour, Butter and Salt in a bowl.
*Rub the butter in to flour until it looks like fine breadcrumbs.
*Add the Basil, Tomato Puree, half and beaten egg and the milk.
Yum Yum
*Mix until it forms a smooth but not sticky dough.
*On a floured surface roll out the dough until it is about 2cm thick.
*cut in to circles with a cookie cutter or cut in to even rectangles with a knife.
*Place on to a baking tray lined with grease proof paper.
*Brush the top of each scone with the remaing egg.
*place even amounts of grated cheese on top.
*Cook in the oven for 10-15 mins until golden.
Cooking in our new oven. isn't  that fun?
Best eaten warm if possible.

Even though these where a total nightmair to make (I added all of the milk at once and no amount of flour could stop it from being a sticky mess) they are FAB-U-LOUS

Hope you enjoyed

Collection 2000 color match foundation

I have wanted to do this review for the longest time and i am beyond happy to be getting rid of my old bottle of this stuff.
I picked it up back in September, I wanted a cheep one for school. Superdrug had it on offer for £4.99. I picked it up in shade 5 Medium. they sell this in 6 shades the first 4 are suitably different but 5 and 6 are a bit more drastic.
I sometimes find it hard to try new concealer and foundation because i have a very strong yellow undertone to my skin, but this is perfect.

It contains SPF20 which is good for the summer but not so good if you are planing on having a photo shoot with flash photography because it will make your face seem white- but I'm sure you have all heard about that.

As far as doing what is says on the bottle it does provide good coverage and looks natural, I'm don't know about adapting to your skin tone but I matches mine perfectly so not going to complain.
It also says that it has oxygen complex to let your skin breath, I have never found that it is heavy or cakey.
The bottle is frosted glass with a pink plastic pump and pink see through lid, this is one of the things that made me pick it up because it stands out. All the writing on the bottle is the same pink as the pump and lid a very nice touch.
Although I love the pink lip it is so thin it cracks over time being taken on and off the bottle. The base of the pump also cracked over time on both my bottles.

Once this bottle cracked I was apple to pull it up. Fortunately it is strong so it inst going to come off,  nothing a bit of glue wont fit.

the very gross broken lid of my first bottle- I taped it up.

Sorry about the mess on the bottle, the pump on this bottle (the first bottle I got) didn't work very well so if you used it the foundation just went every where.
Although I had a few problems with the first bottle, they didn't put me off. This is going to be my staple school foundation for a long time to come.
I recomend this to anyone who is on the market for a good drugstore foundation that lasts a long time and is good value for money.

Hope you enjoyed

Lets Cook: Oaty Fudge Treats

Ok so this didn't involve actual cooking with an oven, because Mr Oven died the other day :( but the hob is needed.
I wanted to do some 'baking' tonight because Torii is upset (I'm not sure she wants me to go in to all the details if you know what I mean.) so I wanted to make something that I can bring in to school tomorrow (I always want to put 2 m's and 1 r in that) that will put a little smile on her pretty face.
These did go down very well when I took them in to school the next day
don't they look nice?
They are super quick and easy to make.
Milk- 150ml (1/4 pint)
Brown Sugar- 450g (1LB)
Butter- 15g (1/2oz)
Salt- Pinch
Vanilla Essence- 1/2 tea spoon
Crunchy Peanut Butter- 175g (6oz)
Sorry about that Torii
Porridge Oats- 220g (8oz)
Glace Cherries- 100g (4oz)
White Chocolate Buttons- 70g
We didn't have enough brown sugar so I mixed in some White
1- Put the Milk, Butter, Salt, vanilla essence and sugar in to a pan.
2-Bring to the boil stirring- this bit is a bit tedious.
3-Boil for 2 mins stirring until the sugar has melted

4-remove from the heat and mix in the peanut butter, stir until it has melted.
5-Add the porridge oats and mix in.
6- cut the glace cherries in to 1/4 and mix in
7- place the mixture in to cupcake cases and put the chocolate buttons on top.
8-leave to set.
"Can I have some?"
Told you it was simple.
These look so good I left a not so my brothers dont eat them.
"I can't read, so can I have one?"
Hope you enjoyed

Book Review: Kensuke's Kingdom

Kensuke's Kingdom
Michel Morpurgo
reading age 9+
Michel is an 11 year old boy living with his family consisting of his Mum, his Dad and there Dog (Stella Artois).
One day the brickworks close's making his dad redundant. His dad buys a boat called the 'Peggy Sue'.
In a storm one night Michel and Stella are washed off the boat in the cold, dark sea of the night. He wakes in the morning to find that he's washed up on a deserted island. He spends the day looking food and water, he curls up that night waiting to die but the next day find food and water. He is not alone.
Over the next few weeks he learns about Kensuke the inhabitant of the island.

This book is full of surprises and you never know what will haven next.
I got in to this book as soon as a started to read it, I could not put it down.
The theme of this book is adventure but don't let this fool you it is also quite heartfelt.
the fount is quite large and there are pictures at the end of the chapters.
I give this book 8/10

hope you enjoyed this review
